This innocuous book stumbled on my attention in 2005 and it has passed through my hands several times since. I’d no inclination to peruse its contents for I’d ceased to trust in miracles. In 2005, I was cursing God for abandoning me. I was using all my energy to stave off the hell I descended into 15 years earlier by marrying a person as un-Godly as anyone could be.
In 2007, while packing some books as donations for a guide fair, my hand yet again fell on “A Course in Miracles “.By this time around, I’d secured a course in miracles spotify a divorce from my husband but was still dealing with the fallout. As I grasped the book, I became very thoughtful and calm. That which was it concerning this book that invoked feelings I hadn’t experienced in a very number of years? My hand clung to the book refusing to place it down. Realizing that this is a sign that I’d better have a closer look, I made a pot of tea and sat in my personal favorite reading chair. With great curiosity, I dedicated to the blue hardcover and read “A Course in Miracles, a foundation for inner peace.” Wow. Which was a pretty bold statement but okay, I decided to bite. Having a deep breath, I pondered the absolute most obvious question: What IS the building blocks for inner peace? This book instantly opened a classic wound and it’d better have the clear answer to healing.
“A Course in Miracles” is truly that, a course. Written in three parts, this book is to not be studied lightly and cannot be read in weekly or even a month. There’s text, a workbook for students and a guide for teachers. I’d the sudden urge to fling the book across the space because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that when I began scanning this book, I was going to have to change and was I ready for the journey ahead?
My personal favorite movie is “The Matrix “.The main character Neo is searching for the clear answer to the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he doesn’t know very well what it is. The person with the clear answer, Morpheus, contacts Neo and offers the opportunity for truth by giving Neo an option between taking a blue pill or perhaps a red pill. Take the blue pill and remain ignorant or take the red pill and find the clear answer to the matrix. Before he reaches for his pill of preference, Morpheus cautions Neo that should he pick the red pill, they can never return to living he have been living.
“A Course in Miracles” may be the red pill. Do I read it and change everything I know about the world and myself or do I take the blue pill and make “A Course in Miracles” book fair fodder?
As I choke down the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 in the workbook for students and promptly read, “Nothing I see in this room means anything “.Oh dear. Can it be too late to take the blue pill?Read More
